Minimal Universal Extra Dimensions
Highly degenerate spectra associated with universal extra dimensions (UED) provide an interesting phenomenology not only from the point of view of cosmology and astrophysics, but also for colliders. We study these exotic signals for the simplest case, called minimal UED, where it is natural to find slow charged particles, displaced vertices, tracks with non-vanishing impact parameters, track ki...
متن کاملBounds on Universal Extra Dimensions
We show that the bound from the electroweak data on the size of extra dimensions accessible to all the standard model fields is rather loose. These “universal” extra dimensions could have a compactification scale as low as 300 GeV for one extra dimension. This is because the Kaluza-Klein number is conserved and thus the contributions to the electroweak observables arise only from loops. The mai...
متن کاملGlobal fits of the Minimal Universal Extra Dimensions scenario
In theories with universal extra dimensions (UED), the 1 particle, first excited state of the hypercharge gauge boson, provides an excellent dark matter (DM) candidate. Here, we use a modified version of the SuperBayeS code to perform a Bayesian analysis of the minimal UED scenario, in order to assess its detectability at accelerators and with DM experiments. We derive, in particular, the most...
متن کاملTwo Universal Extra Dimensions
We review the main results of the study of the Standard model propagating in two universal extra dimensions. Gauge bosons give rise to heavy spin-1 and spin-0 particles. The latter constitute the lightest Kaluza-Klein (KK) particle in the level (1,0). The level (1,1) can be s-channel produced. The main signals at the Tevatron and the LHC will be several tt̄ resonances.
متن کاملMini-review on Extra Dimensions
One of the most stimulating recent ideas in particle physics involves a possibility that our universe has additional compactified spatial dimensions, perhaps as large as 1 mm. In this mini-review, we discuss the results of recent experimental searches for such large extra dimensions. The possibility that the universe has more than three spatial dimensions has been a long-discussed issue. 1 Deve...
